High-order accurate fluids simulation with spectral deferred corrections
Abstract:
I will present a fourth-order numerical method for Navier-Stokes and
Boussinesq flow. A spectral deferred correction temporal scheme is
incorporated into a second-order finite volume fluids code with
adaptive mesh refinement; the spatial discretization is also upgraded
to fourth order accuracy. The behavior of a fluid plume in stratified
density is examined. This is joint worth with Rich McLaughlin (UNC), Michael Minion (UNC), and Ann Almgren (LBNL).
