Modeling complex fluid/soft matter systems using kinetic theories
Abstract: Kinetic theory is a useful formalism to derive models for material systems that can be coarse-grained to dilute particles or large molecule congregations. It has been extremely successful for dilute gases and polymeric liquids. In this talk, I will present a few variations of the kinetic theories for polymer blends and biofilms. Numerical results for simple flow geometries will be presented.
