Comparison of the interpolated
bounce-back and immersed boundary methods in LBE for laminar flow
around a cylinder.
Abstract: Both the bounce-back scheme with
second-order spatial interpolations and immersed boundary methed (IBM)
are simple schemes for curved and complex boundaries in the lattice
Boltzmann equation. Detailed evaluation of these two schemes are
carried out in this paper using the benchmark compution of laminar ow
around a cylinder. We found that the bounce-back scheme with
second-order spatial interpolation is better than immersed boundary
method in accuracy and efficiency.
